COMMUNITY HISTORY

When an Indian Territory mail carrier named his post office after his daughter, the community of Ada was born. The railway brought more people and commerce to the area, and the town was incorporated in 1901. Since then, Ada, OK, has grown thanks to manufacturing plants and desegregation. Today, the town is proud to be the headquarters of the Chickasaw Nation.

Families love Ada for its seven highly-ranked public primary and secondary schools that keep students busy with extracurriculars. Pontotoc Technology Center is located in Ada and offers vocational training programs.
